Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Does the signer need to be present?

The signer must be present in order to get the documents notarized.  This is because the notary public must certify that the signer personally appeared at the time of notarization.  The notary public also needs to meet with the signer to verify the signer’s identity.

2. Can I sign the document ahead of time?

Certain documents require that the signer sign the document in the presence of the notary public.  To be safe, we recommend that you wait to sign all documents until you come in to get them notarized.

3. Can I notarize something in a different language?

The notary public’s job is to meet with the signer in person and verify the signer’s identity.  The notary public is not required to understand the document itself.  Therefore, we can notarize documents in any language.  We simply need to certify that the signer did indeed sign the document.

4. Do I need an appointment?
We have a notary public on staff and available at all times so you do not need an appointment.  Just come in with your documents and photo ID, and we can help.

5. How much does it cost?

The cost is $15 for every stamp the notary public makes.  The entire cost will depend on how many stamps your document needs.

6. How long will it take?

The time it takes depends on the size of the documents, but we typically have people out of here in less than 15 minutes.

7. Do I need to bring anything with me to get my documents notarized?
To get your documents notarized, we just need all of the documents, an acceptable form of the signer’s photo ID, and the signer.
